Ticketmaster is the largest event ticketing system. They sell tickets to
concerts, NBA playoffs, World Series, and more. You can order tickets from
ticketmaster over the phone, online and in person at a Ticketmaster outlet.
It can
be difficult getting tickets through ticketmaster if you don’t know the
tricks and have knowledge on how the tickets are released. There are a few
tricks you can do to increase your chances of getting tickets to the most
popular sold out events at face value.
You
first need to sign up at the ticketmaster.com website and get an account.
You will need a credit card to do this, and it is free. This will help you
in a couple of ways. One, is that you can receive email notification on when
tickets go on sale to your favorite team or concert performer. Secondly,
when the tickets do go on sale, you will be logged in and have a better
chance at getting tickets to a soon to be sold out concert or other event.
Ok,
you have prepared yourself by getting a ticketmaster account, and signing up
to get an email alert when the tickets for your favorite concert goes onsale.
Now the ticket onsale date comes and there are a number of things you need
to do in order to increase your chance at getting tickets to the soon to be
sold out concert.
You
need to get ready around 15 minutes before the event goes onsale. Go to
www.ticketmaster.com
and log into your account.
This is important because if you don’t, once you get tickets assigned to
you, you will be delayed in logging into your account and might loose the
tickets. Next, you need to find the event and open 2 different browser
windows. It works best if you use Internet Explorer and Firefox. The reason
for this is, ticketmaster places a “cookie” on your computer and both
browsers (if they are the same) pick up on this same cookie. You are really
only using one browser because once you search for tickets on the second it
resets the first.
You
need to get to the page where the tickets will be available and continuously
hit refresh on your browser starting at 3 minutes before they are scheduled
to go onsale. If you get a message which says that the ticketing system
is unavilable they have blocked you for submitting too many requests in a
short period of time. No problem, you need to reset your cookies and start
again. On IE, go to tools, internet options and delete your cookies. You
will have to re-log in and start back at the event page since you deleted
your log in cookie. Log in, go back to the event page and keep hitting
refresh until the tickets option appears. Enter the number you want and
submit. Do not try to submit another order during this processing time
otherwise you will be reset and sent to the back of the line.
Once
you get tickets complete the process and start again if you want more
tickets. Remember, that even if ticketmaster says that they are sold out
early on, keep trying and submitting ticket orders because tickets wil pop
up especially diring the first hour.
You
should be doing this online while you are talking to an (out of state) phone
agent as well.
One of
the most important things you can do to get tickets to hot events is to know
when they go onsale. Sign up at Ticketmaster.com for notification when your
favorite concert tickets will go on sale. They will send you an email a few
days before tickets go onsale for the concert or sporting events you choose.
